This is the 2003-07-10 release of WaMCom, the Web and Mail Communicator.

Information, sources and patches

This file lists (most) of the included correctness fixes and other backported patches from the ongoing Mozilla development.

(New in this release is a fix to bug 195574, problems with SSL sites when master password is set to "ask every time")

The non-official/not-yet official feature patches included in this release

• support APOP authentication (POP3 mail)
• support SMTP over SSL (usually on port 465)
• provides crypto.signText() JavaScript function
• easy access to crypto managers from menu Tools/Security
• disable recording of URLS in URL bar when history is set to zero days
• give additional information when prompting for the master password
• confirm window close when having more than one browser tab open
• give access to all entries stored in the certificate database (Extra tab in certificate manager)
• spell checker included (from spellchecker.mozdev.org)
• enhance S/Mime security strength (bug 205702)

In addition to the above, a newer release of the NSS crypto library was used. Amongst other issues, this fixes an interoperability problem with Lotus S/Mime mail. However, in order to maintain compatibility with Mozilla 1.3.1, the change in bugzilla bug 209166 has been applied to the newer snapshot of the NSS library.
